You probably want your mount point to be "root" since you installed GRUB on the
slave drive. Which by the way, is the correct way to do it if you don't want
your MBR overwritten. I don't think you can choose more than one mount point.
If I remember correctly, it won't allow that.

You need an imaging program to keep you out of trouble. Acronis True Image,
Ghost, Drive Image, etc.

Don't use ext/2. Instead, use the Ubuntu 7.04 default which is ext/3. Ext/3 is
a journaling file system, ext/2 is not. I don't know anything about DFSEE, I
used Partition Magic 8.0 to partition off my slave drive. I left the Ubuntu
partition as unallocated. The 7.04 installation program formatted the
unallocated partition to ext/3 and placed GRUB at the "root". The two 6.5 GB
partitions (assuming one for Home, the other for Root) and the swap partition
should be OK. But like I mentioned, you should really use ext/3 for Home and
Root.

Just setup the IBM Boot Manager (been a long time since I used it) to give you
a boot choice for the Ubuntu installation. When the menu item is selected, it
should automatically "chain load" to GRUB on the Ubuntu root partition. If all
is correct, you'll see the GRUB menu appear with the default item on it
selected. If I remember correctly, you're also running XP along with eCS. The
difference between your setup and mine is that I'm using a different boot
manager - and I don't have eCS. (Wish I did, but too expensive for now.)

Good luck and regards.
