That's what I thought.

How to make it do otherwise?  Seems to me it only really needs to open the one
that you're looking at presently,  unless it needs the rest of them for the
headers or something.

I was at that point too,  for all of them.  There were several that were in the
1000-2000 post range.  I cut some of the expiry periods back,  and then had to
cut a few of them further back,  to be able to get it to stop doing this.

I'm not sure if it's perhaps also related to other system instabilities. 
Something about the way *I* use stuff tends to be making swap used creep
upwards over time.  The other day we had a storm that passed through here and
glitched power,  and I've seen no problems since then,  but after a while
they'll come back,  I'm sure.

Yes.  But how to make it not do that?

I don't remember that being the default,  or changing it.  Is there some way to
convert one to the other?
