right and that is one of the distinctions i was making about the different
methods of operation... there was discussion of being able to do both, IIRC ;)

well, as we all also know, all of the "special methods" needed to use anything
can be hidden behind one GUI clicky thing... even a simple perl script that
does your "ftp the file to temp and then kick the player with the temp name" ;)

the key difference is what is done on the receiving end based on the transfer
format chosen...

then, you also have to provide the needed service on the server side and the
clients must also use a method compatible with what you offer... nuttin'
strange there :)

it is a (very stripped) kernel that is tried and tested... only the really bare
necessities are available but there is also a full development flavor
available, as well... so, no, none of that stuff exists... you'd have to figure
out how to add it without any fluff that might impinge on the OS' security
design ;)
