I had a Promise Ultra-66 secondary controller in my Gateway and that's how it
went with that in there.

Yeah I can run this monitor at that, seriously doubt the 12 Y.O. ATI 
Pro Rage Mach 64 card
could deal with it though.

Let me check the specs, it goes out to 1600x1200
Horizontal tops at 115 KHz and vert. 160 Hz

There are some out there used for sale but with shipping they'd be over $100
delivered and they ARE 1999 rigs.

I've got to yank it apart and do a small maintanance on it due to it showing
exactly
the same symtoms of other monitors I've had fail.

Simple matter of hacking off a bit of the foam pad they put on the CRT
connector
circuit boards shield they use to keep the socket on the CRT with a razor
blade.

Invariably with age these harden and warp the shield into the cathode driver 
transistors with BAD result.

Warning signs: a snapping sound every now and again with attendant brief
and minor screen shrinkage.
Sometimes a color will just inexplicably go away.

In any case let go too long the monitor is toast.

My one Packard Bell monitors CRT pins were so blue - blackened and cooked
when I discovered it the pins pulled out of the CRT with the socket

Me and the phone company ( Verizon) have a bit of a dispute going over billing
so no pots line, cable internet only.

So Bright House Networks cheerily gets my monthy direct deposit
for service and Verizon can go stuff themselves.

A fourteen year unblemished customer record for on time bill paying
and they won't even negotiate a $113 dollar phone bill that was beyond
my ability to pay one time?

That's FOURTEEN YEARS of BOTH phone and POTS ISP service

I'll sign up with one of those companies that interfaces VOIP to and from POTS
lines, after the move north.
