In the "Windows" echo you or someone else had mentioned that
just because the product is sold under an American company's
name does not preclude it having been built and assembled in
another country.

It's a bit disingenuous of them since most are two or three
upgrades behind and won't have enough hardware to install Vista
if/when it becomes available. But we know they will _try_
regardless and it'll give them something to discuss in the
meantime (other than the weather at their respective
locations). :-) 

Many are turning to an interest in linux because they know that
Vista is beyond them and will probably be buggy on top of that.
Linux won't complain about their too old hardware with not enough
memory and older video cards. :-)

Of course there _is_ always OBERON for the brave.
