Might be but I doubt it.  Doesn't matter though as I don't use the phoneline.

Why not just straight telnet?  That works with all the telnetable boards I've
tried.  Some are better then others.  My Fido host in Langley, BC has one that
is quite good with the Linux console, even my oddball 83x135 one.  gpm cut and
paste works too.  Chat, messagebases, etc.  Too bad it isn't a Linux based one.

You may have but you're right about me thinking dialup.

Change the icon in WindowMaker to call "rxvt -ls -rv -mod alt" instead of
xterm.  In blackbox you'll either have to edit a custom menu or the system-wide
menu which I think is /usr/X111R6/share/somewhere-or-other.  It is called
"menu" and is editable by root with any text editor.

Right.  Good idea.  Myself I lean toward WindowMaker but it is more bloated
then the other miminalistic ones or sure.  Easier to configure though.

Yep.  I am not sure it is supported.  Never tried it myself as DOS is DOS.  Why
put a GUI on DOS?  Only Bill Gates would do something that silly.

The console for sure.  mc is DOSie.  However the commandline reminds me of
Solaris without the bloat of X.  I never did run across a console version of
Solaris, only X-based.  Too bad Sun never got their act together.  Oh well.

No, but I know who you are referring to.  Mikey in this case is a play on micro
and is what I call my teeny-tiny residence.  The brain part is the computers
within.  I am hoping to get the BBS running on a teeny-tiny pc/104 DC computer
booting from a compactflash drive but still have some bugs to work out.  Works
great as is but definetly is getting better.  I also want to add a GPS
reciever/antenna (a good one and not those crappy handheld ones) and give it an
opportunity to go mobile (eg mounted in the dash of a truck or boat or ...).
