I've posted to Dovenet, and didn't receive much help once I told them that 
I did it successfully under Windows using mtelnet.

I also mentioned I had troubles about 6 months ago using ntcrt under 
Windows, but hadn't bothered with it since I hadn't been doing any 
uploading since then.

The problem has ocurred on more than 50-90% of *any* SBBS boards I've called.
Also a 
couple WWIV boards, and one board running MBSE. One fellow suggested I use 
Konsole from KDE with the -8 -E option. Another fellow said that zmodem 
was never really designed to work over telnet.

I've also tried on Linux SBBS boards.

Downloads *always* work on *any* SBBS board. I rarely call WWIV boards so 
I'm primarily using SBBS and Wildcat for examples.

I have run into trouble uploading a file over 4 megs to Wildcat boards. It 
will upload most of it, then error out .. buffer overflows and the like. 
It's rarely a problem. :) 

The fix I received from the Dovenet message areas regarding sbbs 
uploads was to upload qwk 
packets thru ftp. When you ftp into a synch board, you can upload your rep 
packet and it's processed as if you uploaded it using zmodem from inside 
the BBS.

Though not all synch boards have sbbs ftp server enabled; most do.

When telnetting using minicom with the modem emulator, it's using lrz and 
lsz if I'm not mistaken.

I dumped Redhat for Slackware about 2 or 3 months ago.:) I've currently 
settled on Blackbox for a while; after I'm used to that, I'll start 
looking at some others, such as twm :)
