Hey Kenneth!

Sounds great. I think that is a good thing.

We'll soon enough find out. Also I heard the am2 socket has potential future
development based around the dual core suckers and their 'extreme' version,
whatever the heck that really is. Too much money from what I see here no
matter what amd thinks it's usefullness might be. I am still wondering about
the opterons and why I might want one of those. So far I haven't been able to
answer that question for myself. I still believe my dual 933 p3 system can
kick serious butt compile-wise. :-)

They are dreaming. MS stuff was seriously flawed right out of the Gates. Did
they (MS) ever get 32-bit right yet (nevermind 64-bit)?

It was cheap. We'll see. Good ram though and it should work with other
boards. I still am thinking about other things and have noticed prices coming
down very nicely. In the meantime this experiment will keep me distracted
until something better presents itself. As far as my main connected system the
800MHz C3 seems to be chugging along nicely. It yawns at the so-called high
speed internet connection. I am confident it will handle the ftp issue nicely
and if not I have a backup system.

Maybe. Most of it is totally meaningless to me personally but if I find time
or become challenged about it I'd be more then happy to put in my two cents
about any of that stuff.

KP> it's often http only these days. but perhaps that is for the best.
 KP> :)

That has already been covered for years now. The mainpage sucks big time but
it works to point to the ttylinux stuff. I am still uncertain what should be
on the mainpage and I have never been a web person so it is truly minimalized
(to say the least). From what we've seen ttylinux is the bulk of the traffic
(downloads) so putting up a pure ftp server to back it up is probably a very
prudent move at the moment. I am thinking it should be production grade by
this Friday (June 2). I've been testing stuff for quite some time now so I
think it is overdue that someone did something about it.

Life is good,
Maurice
