Same here.  You prompted me to check some things here that are related to your
situation except that here I was thinking about ways of potentially heading off
your type of situation at the pass.  I have a couple of drives, some good and
some bad, that I am using to try and figure this out seeing nobody else seems
to want to do it.  So far everyone seems more interested in maintaining the
staus quo and from what I've seen thus far I am having difficulties being
convinced that is a good idea.

Also ran across a bad adapter which temporarily threw a monkey wrench into the
idea of truly linuxing this stuff up.  The adapter in question got fed to the
heave_ho() function and is no longer a factor.  :-)

Good idea.  I now am willing and able to test and hopefully verify anything you
might stumble across so we can put this type of stuff behind us where it
belongs.  Right?

Sounds interesting.  I take it that you used the seagate tools from the floppy
drive.  I am sure I saw a couple messages about that.

I never use extended partitions but I'll do that on a couple assorted offline
drives (usb->ide) and see what shows up.
