What I get here is it's Slot 1 SEC which is a smaller card that fits the
same slot 1.

OTOH from the processor upgrade standpoint it's not looking too good.
No thingies to release the rails on the slot 1 card.
Looks like Gateway made Slot 1 rails to engage the CPU module with
integrated passive heat sink to take some special tool to remove.
Think outside snap ring pliars, same general idea.
Heat sink is notched and slot rail descends into the notch on either
side.
Any attempt for me to fake it would likely overstress
and break something.
Don't know about unscrewing the rails and trying that way.
Two screws one each rail opposite sides with a keyed plastic
pin for alignment.

The motherboard is called a Jabil BX motherboard which agrees with the
BIOS flash doc. Later BIOS that is the correct upgrade.
Then if you link to the motherboard specs from the Jabil link it's an
Intel 440 BX motherboard.
They're one and the same.

So the only snag is the slot 1 rails and to try and circumvent would be
a risk of unknown magnitude.
I'm currently thinking the risk outweighs the benefit.
What I was really looking for is to speed it up enough so
I could run a CD - DVD burner and download and burn ISO images.
