Hey All!

Wow!  Really quiet lately which *MUST* mean everyone is happy.  Right?

Let's see if I can alter that sad state of affairs.  :-)

Have been playing around with the idea of using ttylinux as a host and client
for things like clustering, file and/or memory sharing, and whatever else might
fall into this sort of networking category and discovered that only one change
to the stock ttylinux packages would be required to make it doable, and that is
the addition of libnsl into the glibc package.  From the last proposed build
scripts I saw and tested it will be a done deal soon which makes me very happy.
 In the meantime I decided to check all the potential this addition would bring
to the table and have discovered so far that it brings far more then I first
realized when first pushing for it's inclusion.  Looks very promising across
the board, or at least wrt to both readily available 32-bit and 64-bit cpu's.

Having said that, web browsing is still out of reach as far as proper
minimalization of 64-bit web apps go.  Not an issue to me personally but I can
see where others will disagree with me.  Also email abilities are far too
bloated as it currently stands to even consider proposing the current method
employed.

Anyone here see these as a problem?

Fido compatibilty is definetly still a problem but if this echo is any
indication of all things Fido then it appears it might solve itself without any
interference.

What else?

As is it looks to be a winner.  I am drooling in anticipation.

Also have now got a pure 64-bit Slackware going but had to drop some of the
standard Slackware inclusions mostly backwards compatible abandonware which
also is of minor significance in the grand scheme of things.  Personally I
never used any of that in 32-bit world anyhow so my feelings are spared.  I
definetly prefer the Slackware way of doing things.  No doubt about it or at
least not today.

xorg 7.1 is also looking good but have some issues with the 3D stuff which also
isn't mission critical.  It might work better if I go back to the onboard Intel
graphics chip which I might later if I get around to it.  Today it isn't an
issue.
