Ärende: Tools CMD line sexy
===========================
Hey Maurice, here's a brain bender of a puzzle and conundrum for you.
Can you figure out what I did and what I was up to in the following
command line generated text?

The meat of the post took a couple of minutes but the rest comments
efforted
an hours work.

I generated it echoing in appended commentary to tell me what I was doing
and my intent.

This is how I accomplished so much yesterday by precisely these
tedious and pathetic efforts to break through to myself.

First I paper clipped memos saved in sequence of
order of execution to track down malicious software a few months
back and now this bizarre claim. {( obvious a fraud) this comment not to
you MK}

Could not have done it in the GUI. ( this one is to you Maurice)

Well I'll get back to it later to impliment however just at the moment
I'm just a tad under the weather from yesterdays 15 hour marathon.

Note: mnemonic appended to file in text/etc.init.d.txt (destination file)
cat README then echo
My mental scratchpad memory aid to figure out what's up.

Tedious.
But it is what remains left to me.
Mentally tedious strain as a means to me on how to proceed
and to create this file in perhaps three minutes.
File of course reflects iptables as it exists on hda3
in the Debian kernel 2.6
Intermediate step to implimentation in Slackware kernel 2.4

Do you know were I inclined to lie about now I might make something up
and make claim it is possible for pain to be so great as to cause
mental degredation and madness I might generate a file like this, ha, ha.
My bad.

# Begin generated memory aide file

Configuration of Init under Debian GNU/Linux

Most Unix versions have a file here that describes how the scripts
in this directory work, and how the links in the /etc/rc?.d/ directories
influence system startup/shutdown.

For Debian, this information is contained in the policy manual, chapter
3.3:
system run levels. The home site for the Debian Policy Manual is at

http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/

The Debian Policy Manual is also available in the Debian package
`debian-policy'. When this package is installed, the policy manual can be
found in directory /usr/share/doc/debian-policy. If you have a web server
and a browser installed you can probably read it at
http://localhost/doc/debian-policy/

Make sure you have at least version 3.1.1.0 of the policy manual.

Some more detailed info can also be found in /usr/share/doc/sysvinit.

# end generated memory aide file

It appears this is what I did to start figuring out iptables
from the command line.

First locate iptables | less
then,

ls /mnt/etc/init.d/README and then,

cat /mnt/etc/init.d/README

Note: mnemonic appended to file in text/etc.init.d.txt (destination file)
cat README then echo
My mental scratchpad memory aide to figure out what's up.

Now to try to figure out how to import this into vi.
Tired I beleive I may try gui methodogy acquired while
formerly engaged in lamer efforts to communicate
cognition to myself.

Nope, afterthought: vi /home/wchirnside/etc.init.d.txt
had ought to do it.

One might think that at one time in the dark and distant past I mikght have
had a brain<g>

Proudly now a command line thunker!

You are a very smart guy Maurice as are Paul, James, Charles and Martin so
I feel
certain you will be able to decipher the meanings of this message
if not on first pass it should at very least compile for you on
the second pass.

James Bradley is a smart fellow as well and I hope his nerve pain
is not nor ever reaches the point of having to resort to this
kind of methodology to speak to himself.

Such an ass am I to to go to such lenghts to perpetuate
a deception don't you think?

Should any less intelligent or less compassionate folk try to play along
and decipher the puzzle within the conundrum here is a hint.
Take everything in this post as the literal truth after screeening
out the sarcasm.

This file dedicated to the Slackware 10.2 operating system within the
command line console and the assistance of those who helped make
it possible to bring this to you.

A very special thanks to the American politicians for
providing top notch medical care for those in need for without
whose assistance this message would not have been neccessary.

In closing let me say I am going to boot the live CD to do
neccessary secure internet commerce before tossing
that CD into a box for rescue use only.

Believe I said some time ago Maurice that this effort is
not a means to an end but rather a effort of the journey
being the end in itself.

Well that's about it from the philosophical<sp> and sarcastic front
as I effort always to not go gently into the dark night.

P.S. I do so look forward to reading those Gutenberg downloaded
html books now I'm a fervent lynx admirer :-)

PPS Flagged PVT so if you are not Maurice, Paul, Charles, James or
Martin shame on you for reading other people private messages.

PPPS. vi etc.init.d.txt to import into vi to save as
