Hey Ross!

That is what I am using at the moment. A bit overkill for me but saves some
current grief in the meantime. I'd like to get rid of the squish format and
switch to something more usable across the board, like text. Much easier to
output text to all sorts of formats, especially text.

RC> Its too bad intelligence isnt part of your ensemble Mr Kinal.. :(

Why is that? What difference would it make?

RC> For years I shared your disdain for people using programs like GIGO

Right. Be a whole lot simpler to deal with straight unformatted text, like
email for instance. Divide the header and the message with an acceptable and
unique delimiter and tossing/checking/etc would be so much easier and better
methinks, even for a lame OS.

RC> However a fellow from Zone 2, Johan Billing coded a program called
 RC> "jamnntpd".

I've heard of it. I think I looked at his perl script awhile back. No Jam
here so it really didn't make any sense to switch at the time. Now I'd just
rather get rid of all DOS-think formatting and save a TON of grief.

RC> What it does is it serves as a nntp server, but it takes a Fidonet

Okay. I currently don't have nttp and wasn't planning to. I'd rather use vim
for everything. Currently doing email that way but am still looking for proper
agents to handle it. At the moment using procmail and fetchmail with some
custom perl scripts and modules to take care of the meat and potatoe issues.
Works good and I'd like to do Fido exactly like that except without the email
agents, etc.

RC> You shouldnt be commenting on stuff you know nothing about.

Neither should you. Your posts here are rubbish. The one I am responding to
is the only one I've seen from you that actually has anything to do with Linux,
albiet not using Linux to write it no matter what is in between. When you say
something you can actually prove then perhaps it will raise the quality of my
comments, but don't bet on it as I doubt you could prove anything you say,
especially not anything to do with Linux.

RC> No, my linux experience may not exceed yours, but I have run it a
RC> helluva lot longer than Wayne.

Her obviously catches on faster. :-)

RC> I was quite pleased with Xandros over Suse,

SuSE lost it when they sold out. I have yet to see Xandros.

 RC> I did not lack a single
RC> library required as a prerequisite to get the husky stuff compiled. A
RC> slight edit to huskymak.cfg and off I went make make make.. :)

The only dependencies outside of the Husky libs are glibc and ncurses for msged
so it isn't too much to sweat.

RC> I will admit, I installed the binkd daemon from a deb, but it was the
RC> latest version which I could not find the source for.

Yeah they hide it. Just a sec ... found it.

What a hassel.

Life is good,
Maurice
