Ärende: Speeding Up OS/2 on a Slow PC

Be happy. I had to spend one of my computers for that job because it was too
late to give the printer back after I found out that there is absolutely no
chance to get the printer working under OS/2 - even as it is declared not only
as postscript but network printer too. The only capabilities the printers
network gives to other OSes than windows is showing a WEB page with its status.
Yeah, that works with OS/2 - but only if the computer with the windows driver
is up and running. To print over ip you needs a windows mashine with a windows
driver.

I can't help you on that. Hint: when you looks out for a printer be sure it
tells in its technical data that it is not only for windows. When the
documentation does speak only about windows and windows and windoes don't buy
it, even when it tells it were network aware or/and postscript. Braindead
solutions like my QMS Minolta DeskLaser will do nothing without windows even
then. You may call the hotline of HP and ask them. Even as HP has never written
a single driver for OS/2 it is possible to get a clear answer of the question
if the specific printer is aware of OS/2. They left the job to you to find the
driver - but if IBM has produced one they will know that. I got my driver from
my eCS 1.1 CD.

Be happy, none of my ink printers were able to work with a single ink cardridge
for more than 4 weeks. That means 3 pages or 50 or 150 but not a single one
after 4 weeks.

I'm unwilling to spend a single cent for switch to get only the printer
connected in another way as it is connected yet.
