Ärende: More Install Printer issues

Can anyone help here?

OK, I have the latest Passport Advantage Laser Printer Driver update. The
instructions on how to use it are clear.  And then you go to the directory in
which you installed it and select a 'new' HP Laserjet such as the 2420N which
is available.  You complete the 'install' for it.

You get the expected choices of driver output port and all that.  You complete
the install.

Surprise!  There is no object for that printer in the printer folder like you
see if you create a new object for a new printer with the 'standard' way of
creating one, then assign a driver and port to it as one can also do with the
printer setup utility.

But wait!  There is more!  If you do the install the formal as instructed way
from IBM via the read me, you will find you installed printer already there in
the little pull down pane in the 'select the default printer' where you choose
what printer of all your installed printer you want for the running OS/2 system
to use as a default!  That,though it is 'not there' as a visible object in the
printer choices from a 'standard' way you normally see this in the printer
operations object,or from the Connections folder, for example.

So where is the 'correct' visual object which we need?  How do we open up
access to it there?  I've looked through all the icons in the search game to
see if I can locate it as well.  I can't find it there either? As well, if you
do create such a 'ghost' printer and choose it for your in use default printer,
it does work!  But curiously, if you create a new visible object for it and
then choose settings for, say, handling the EOF issues with this, the behavior
of that as seen object for this 'same' printer, as the invisible one, don't
necessarily work quite the same I've found out.  Spooling, timing and whatever
don't work out like 'instructed' between the qhost object and the seen one!
