Looks like most of what you are doing I still run as batch file processing here
(not even upgrade to REXX scripts).

My nodelist processing is spread between a number of scripts, triggered by my
.tic file processing....

(1)  My script running my .tic file processing has the following after
processing the .tic for the nodediff to the proper (temporary) directory:

(2)  DoNode.bat is longer, and I probably need to quote in a different message.
 I'm using editnl to merge nodediffs, and then qnode to create the needed
nodelist files for Bink and Maximus here....

I do set some semiphores to keep my .tic and mail file processing to only one
instance running at a time (with the second instance waiting for the first to
finish, and any additional instances at one time aborting....

For Fidonews, I have some lines like:  [Note some of this is dead code....]

I am known to create temporary, normally empty directories as targets for .tic
file processing, so that I can then trigger on files showing up in those
directories for further processing....
