The GRC tests are really REALLY basic. There is a port scanner called =
"mingsweeper" that can do syn, null, and ack port scans which will show = much
more than GRC ever could imagine. It's possible to tell if a port = is opened
but firewalled by doing these type scans (as opposed to a port = that's not
opened and firewalled).
Very useful when trying to hack a machine because even though there is a =
firewall you can fingerprint the OS and usually even tell what the = firewall
program is. Also with firewalls like sygate that block if you = port scan them,
they can't tell they are being port scanned with some of = these type scans so
they never block you.
Geo.

FWIW Comodo passes all the ShieldsUp tests at
http://www.grc.com/intro.htm

Sounds like an AVG problem then. No problems with Avast for me.

CoreForce turns out for people because of its added sandbox facilities.
