Intuit stuff is pretty tightly intertwined with Windows, for better or worse. 
It certainly looks like Intuit developers take all manner of liberties with the
Windows APIs.

I've seen that there are some problems with Quicken and Vista.  The versions of
Quicken involved are one or two years old.  Intuit's response is, "upgrade to
the current version".  That is not going to make the Quicken users happy when
they have to pay for a Quicken upgrade, in addition to the money they just
dumped into a Vista upgrade.
