Ärende: Re: where the hell is my global warming?
================================================
From: "Mark" <nomail@hotmail.com>

Phosphates! -- I remember the big starburst labels on the boxes/jugs proudly
declaring they were "Phosphate Free!" Haven't seen that for awhile now, but
it's probably still in the fine print.

Oil burners -- When my parents sold their house some years ago, there were
non-stop ads on TV about how great oil heat was -- yet their realtor was
marking their marketability down because they had an oil tank (never thought of
it at the time, but she must have been a greenie) -- she was wrong it sold just
fine. I was puzzled back then as to why a realtor would look for drawbacks,
especially in the face of effectively free advertising for her!

Energy Credits -- Back in the early 80s I was researching the tax credits
available for solar additions, they were there and black drums full of water
counted for thermal storage. My idea was a greenhouse lean-to addition with the
drums up against the house for that storage. It was rudimentary, and though it
would have worked, for one reason or another it never came to fruitarian. But
to the credit of NJ and the utility companies here, they do still have very
heavy duty actual cash rebates as well as ongoing credits for solar panels now.

Genetically engineered fast growing pine forests -- Fuhgettaboutit, anything
genetic (except embryo stem cell research) is verboten.
