I'm not sensitive on Passport, particularly not on the speculation I =
read here. What I called you on in this thread and in many others is = when
you make stuff up in order to support some claim you are making. = Maybe you
didn't intend to make any connection between Passport and = saving credit card
numbers but if so you not only failed to make a = distinction, you pretty
clearly made a connection. Just look below to = see where you wrote "this
started out as a discussion about passport and = my comment was that people
don't want their computer storing passwords = and credit card numbers". Is
that like "this started out as a =
discussion of mike miller and my comment was that people prefer log = prison
sentences for fraud"?
You make this same mistake in this new message. Passport does not =
require the computer to remember your password. You keep insinuating = that it
does.

I think you are being very sensitive about passport, I have not said =
passport saves your credit card number, I said it was a discussion about =
passport and I made the statement that people don't want their computers = to
remember passwords or credit card information (I mentioned credit = card
information because that's what Amazon does although it's not on = the client
end) because they don't view the computer as a secure device. = My comment
below specifically addresses the computer remembering a = password.
I wasn't picking on passport, I was picking on the whole concept of =
having the computer remember information that is designed to confirm the =
identity of the user not the computer. That information needs to be = stored on
the user not on the computer. A memory stick, a programmable = ring, a magnetic
ID card, something that goes with the user when he = moves away from the
computer.

"Rich" <@> wrote in message news:41dcbccf@w3.nls.net...
Nope. Look at the bull you just wrote attempting to make a =
connection between Passport and people saving passwords and credit card =
numbers on their own computers. Your original statements to which I = replied
at the start of this thread were
It boiled down to too few people trusting their computer with =
their credit
card number. Sort of like what's the point of a password if the =
computer is
going to enter it for you..
Aside from your bogus connection between this and Passport, how =
dense must you be to continue to claim that people don't trust their =
computers when there is plenty of evidence that they not only do what = you
claim otherwise, save passwords and credit card numbers, but they = trust not
just their computers which they control but also unknown = parties on the
Internet? Why do you believe that spyware is so = successful getting itself
installed with free software like kazaa or by = other means that require the
users to make a conscious choice to run or = install software from the Internet
if the users are supposedly so = distrustful?

I think you have me confused with someone else, what claims about =
passport did I make?
Geo.

First off, I called on your lies about Passport. What is the =
point of having any discussion with you when you repeated post bullshit = and
use it to attempt to support some claim you are trying to make?
Our discussion from that point on, after to moved on from =
your initial lies, has been you failing to support the claim that people =
don't trust the computer itself and the plenty of examples that they do = trust
the computer and much more. Again, if people really weren't so = trusting, why
do they continue to choose to install spyware, fall for = phishing scams, etc.

that you claim

problems.<<
I'm fairly sure they don't trust the virus writers and hackers =
either but
this started out as a discussion about passport and my comment =
was that
people don't want their computer storing passwords and credit =
card numbers
because they don't trust it as a secure device.
We seem to have come full circle now so I'll just shut up.
