   A tree has been in Windows since the old 16 bit file manager.  The =
distinction between the two modes is whether you open or explore.  Or = maybe
you mean something else.  If you mean back and forward as in the = browser
sense, this is in Windows too and works like it does in a = browser moving back
or forward through your history not the heirarchy.
