Nokia used to have more leverage than they do not. If they haven't =
already they will get over it. I think they have responded which is why = they
started to try to share with symbian. When they dominated they did = not
share.
As for keyboards and the like for phones, I do believe I am typical. =
I know hardly anyone that has a keyboard for their phone or even PDA. I =
believe people choose these devices for the form factor. I know I did. = I've
had multiple PDAs given to me and I never carried them with me = because they
didn't fit in my pocket. I did take them travelling as a = handy address book.
My smartphone does that both with a smaller form = factor and without the
effort of syncing plus adds email in a form that = is useful to me. None of
this removes the value I get from my laptop.

They are used to dominating in a market where they are not the=20

Good for you. However you are not typical.

I have used both. I chose not to use a smartphone precisely because it =
is too accessible & the off button & the fact that my laptop travel in =
a=20
bag is more peacefull.
I think it was the time I spent in Vodafone in the strand in London &=20
their Italian & German datacenters was enough for me & I could see =
which=20
way it was going there. I had to look at a number of smartphones & I =
was=20
impressed by symbian, palm & pocketPC.
However those who like constant communications & use their PC =
primarily=20
as a comms device (around me) prefer smartphones.
The limiting factor is the screen size. That's it. Enough memory, the=20
wifi is good enough, the browser, wordprocessor etc is good enough &=20
it's in their pocket & it's always on.
I have a strong feeling I will have to get one given I have had a =
number=20
of "don't you pick up your mail on the train", followed by "oh you use =
a=20
phone phone" when I explain that yes I can & periodically do pick up =
my=20
mail but...but it had it's content attached as a .doc & frankly on my=20
little nokia even if I could read .doc the screen is too=20
small....etc.etc.etc.
