Not true at all. It only requires the sender domain to publish a =
record and recipient to implement it. The recipient cares about no = other
senders or even if the sender implements the checks.
Look no further than mike miller for an example of it working without =
everyone using it.

It does what it is supposed to. You keep claiming it is supposed =
to do

I never said there is no value in SPF, for someone like AOL, Yahoo, =
MSN, etc.
I
would imagine it has great value as for a target like them even a =
small drop
in
backscatter can mean a significant load decrease.
But if you look at it as a technology, it's sort of like a gate =
without a
fence. Great so it blocks the sidewalk but I can just go around it.

The normally not so bright folks at the register are not someone =

attack
them doesn't make their claims anything other than their own. Maybe =

Yes I saw that yesterday. This is what I have tried to explain to =
Rich,
that
because spammers have unlimited supply of domains they can easily =
get
around
spf so it will have no effect or perhaps a positive effect on the =
spammers.
All
SPF is designed to do is stop people from sending as your domain =
and even
that
is lame because it doesn't depend on your using SPF but instead =
depends on
everyone else in the world using SPF.
It could have been so much more if it only had been spec'd to work =
for the
PRT
domain instead of the name domain.
