Unless you are dense you sure did mention protecting AOL users and =
you did so again. If AOL knows enough that mike's domain did not send = the
email that claims such in order not to send him an NDR, it also = knows enough
to not pass it on to the AOL user recipient. From AOL's = perpective, the
latter is all it cares about. That mike doesn't get an = NDR is just a happy
side effect.

I said nothing about mike's protection. Mike has done nothing to =
protect himself, at least nothing he mentioned here.

I said nothing of the sort, I never mentioned protecting AOL users. =
What I said
was that SPF protects mike when someone spams AOL users but if they =
then spam
AT&T mike is not protected even though it's mike who implemented SPF.

So perhaps you can explain the sanity in your statement where you say =
mike's
protection depends on AT&T implementing SPF?

Hey, if that's how you think then here's a thought, while you are =
depending on
AT&T for your security, why don't you depend on the ISP's to kill the =
spammers
accounts? Then you don't need any of this crap.

What you wrote is that the mechanism works wonderfully to protect =
against
anyone that wants to spam the millions upon millions of AOL customers. =
 Sounds
like a very valuable mechanism. To bad AT&T doesn't support it =
currently. In
your terms, the gate around AOL is good and solid while AT&T hasn't =
built one
  yet.
