Ärende: Re: Buried in Real's EULA for RealPlayer 10.5
=====================================================
From: "Gary Britt" <email@from_Gary_Britt.org>

My new laptop came with Norton Internet Security (i.e. AV, Spam Killer, And
Firewall). I've never run a software firewall before, always just relied on my
router's firewall. Anyway, since it was preinstalled I've left it running to
see what it was like. I want to recall that when I first fired up Real that
the Firewall popped up and asked me if I wanted to permit Real Player to use
the net. I always turn off Real Player's cookies and phone home stuff and
message center, etc. Does that protect from all the BS you quoted below? I
don't subscribe to any premium content either.

So far what I like the most about the Norton Firewall is that it comes
pre-configured for a lot of normal things and ready to tune appropriate
settings and default rules automatically, which is something some here hate but
is what I needed to not immediately remove/turn off the product on my machine.
I haven't minded running it because it hasn't been annoying me to death as did
my only other look a software firewall did a few years ago.
