Virtually no one. Is this another shining example of your claim? If =
so, give it up.

Gee I don't know Rich, how many people have hacked their xbox? You =
would think that would be a geek only thing but obviously there are a = lot
more geeks than expected huh?
Geo.

Are you now trying to argue against yourself? How many non-geeks =
do you know adding hd capture cards to PCs for their living room? Even = among
the geeks I know you are much more likely to find people using = DVRs or STBs.

Yes and no. Buying commercial products such as the Buffalo DVD =
player and a Windows 2000 PC and then creating a system using those two =
purchased components and whatever else (such as my high-def TV recorder = card)
and creating a "system" from those separate components. A system = without the
DRM, without the tagging of recorded media, without the lost = control over
what that media can be watched or listened to on.=20
It's not a terribly complex setup and I think lots of people will =
opt for a less restrictive route that allows them to share with friends = and
family as opposed to being locked into having all media keyed to one = box so
that it's lost should you buy a new computer or so that you can = only "share"
it with a handful of other keyed machines.
Those types of oppressive DRM schemes are not going to fly except =
on the really low end cheapie stuff.
Geo.

No. You are confused. The geeks to which george and adam =
are referred are people buying commercial products not creating them. = Of
course, the innovators fail too, more often then early adopters, = because many
ideas never make it to a product an early adopter can buy.=20

Rich,
No, you are confusing 'early adopters' with the 'innovaters', =
aka 'geeks'
