Actually people here are saying that a portion of the customer base = would be
better served without such a restrictive OS license. You are = attempting to
portray MS as some sort of innocent bystander in these = licensing agreements.
Yes, MS has a right to mandate these restrictions = just as I, as a consumer,
have a right to be displeased by them.=20

If customers assign value to the choices emachine does not make, as =
the folks here claim to, they would be competing better by better = serving
these customers. It's all emachines choice.

Sure they have a choice. They can choose to compete in the commodity =
PC market by accepting the MS solution or not. It's a business = decision
that's more a necessity than a 'choice'. =20

Only if you redefine incentive to mean choice.

and MS doesn't offer 'incentives' so that eMachines will make =
that choice? =20

It sure is important. You claimed that replacing the =
computer but keeping the case is the keeping the same computer. You = really
do need to have a firm basis in reality if you want to make a = point.
The choice you continue to whine about is one made by =
emachines. You should be whining to them. But of course no one expects = you
to. You will likely continue to whine.

Not incapable, unimportant to my point that tying Windows =
license to the hardware is proof that Microsoft is just as draconian.

"motherboard, case, what's the difference", Are you =

If you are unhappy with emachines, whine to emachines.

Motherboard, case, what's the difference, pick which you =
want to call the computer. The point is if I buy software I expect to be =
allowed to run that software on one computer, if my old computer dies I =
expect to be able to replace the hardware and run the same software on = one
computer.=20
Change that model, force me to buy new software every =

another platform like Mac or Linux.

I doubt it was tied to that individual motherboard =
or even that type of motherboard.
BTW, are we all to be pretending that the case is =
the computer and the motherboard an accessory instead of the reality.
