Geo.,

The US Gov may have the largest number may have the largest number of =
Blackberrys, but I doubt that they are paying anywhere near what you or = I
would. They would be on GAO price list which is brutal to get on to, = both
from a price and support requirement perspective. When I was a = product
manager at AT&T I would regularly turn down GAO pricing requests = for my
products from the Government accounts team. One of the major = reasons I would
do so is that you had to grant the GAO best pricing = status without the GAO
making any volume commitment. So if I only got 1 = sale off the GAO pricelist I
would have to give them the same price as I = gave a commercial customer that
committed to buying 20,000 units. And = they are now the only one that won't
get turned off in the Blackberry = suit.

But back to Blackberry users, RIM also seems to have done a very nice = job
penetrating upper and executive management, and these are the folks = that are
really in an uproar.

While I have your attention can I ask a question, is there a reason =
you are
responding to everything using html? (instead of using the format of
whatever you are responding to). Just wondering if this is on purpose =
or
  just something you hadn't noticed.

  Geo.,

As Don pointed out, right now they basically have a lock on the market =
and a
market that is very willing to pay the premium. When you have a lock =
on a
market you charge as much as the market will bare, salt away a good =
portions
of the revenues, because that premium will disappear when somebody =
comes up
  with the "faster, cheaper" alternative.
