Understood.  I don't have an issue with that or at least what happens to
messages once they are bound for the world at large.  As far as a size
limitation to any individual message I am in favour of it.  I'd hate to see any
echo area overbloated with HUGE messages that probably won't be read by anyone.
 Save the larger stuff for the great American novel you ought to be thinking
about if you find that much to say in any given message.  Heck I am not even a
fan of quoting but do so only because everyone and their dog gets uptight when
I don't quote them.  Personally it doesn't bother me if you or anyone else
doesn't quote my message(s).  Mind you that might lead off into some weird
discussions after a few replies, not that I mind that either.  :-)

I am a true, blue believer in getting the most bang for the buck as long as
everything needed is taken care of.  If a way to trim code and speed up
processing is found then I am apt to follow that strategy.  I am definetly NOT
an advocator for MS-style BLOAT!!!

It should be, which is why I thought the call I proposed to Jame for the
DateTime in his txt2pkt.pl script was justified.  Other then the four digit
year for the pkt header that string contains everything you need to know for
Fido messaging and nicely formatted too.

Ah!  Everyone, even the creator, can make mistakes in judgement.  ;-)

Right.  I knew that which is why I said in a previous message "the lowest
common denominator" which I think would be DOS.
