I'm ambivalent about it.  If I could be sure that they would be prosecuted
vigorously in their home country, I would say go for it.  But, as we both know,
that is a coin toss at best.

But this is just another example of liberal hypocrisy.  They make a big deal
about cutting these guys a break and shipping them back home.  Many of them,
however, will be executed outright as terrorists.  That is 180 out as to why
they want to cut them loose.  They scream about how we're abusing them and all
that, but they haven't connected all the dots in either direction.

As I've said before, these guys are terrorists - not subject to the rules of
the Geneva Convention governing prisoners of war - yet we still treat them
better than our soldiers in many ways.  If it were up to me, they wouldn't have
it so soft.  There are lots of ways to get people to talk and spill their guts
without physically hurting them.  No more kid gloves.  They'd either talk or
walk and it would be leaked to the street that they sang like a choir of
canaries.

Then there are the assholes here like Dick Durbin. People here in Illinois are
going batshit over his remarks comparing Gitmo to the Soviet Gulag and the
Nazis.  Then he digs himself in deeper today trying to "clarify" what he said.
I called his office and sent him email telling him in no uncertain terms that I
consider him a traitor and that the people of Illinois have long memories, and
that he is a disgrace as a Senator.  The Democrats just keep digging themselves
in deeper and deeper.
