Military Advocacy Group Set to Launch Ad Campaign Against Durbin on
Independence Day

Move America Forward will begin an ad campaign against Sen. Dick Durbin in
Illinois and around the nation on July 4th.
SACRAMENTO - Illinois senior Senator Dick Durbin will be targeted in a TV ad
campaign that will begin on Independence Day - July 4th - in Illinois and
throughout the nation by a Sacramento, California-based non-partisan,
non-profit group called "Move America Forward."

The ads criticize Senator Durbin for his comparisons of U.S. interrogators
stationed at Guantanamo Bay to, "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad
regime -- Pol Pot or others -- that had no concern for human beings. Sadly,
that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of
their prisoners."

Durbin has since offered a controversial apology for the remarks, taking to the
Senate floor last week to offer his tearful recantation after his statements
were publicly rebuked by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, a fellow Democrat.

Move America Forward, an organization "committed to supporting America’s
efforts to defeat terrorism and supporting the brave men and women of our Armed
Forces" according to its website, will begin broadcasting the ad on Monday,
July 4th on national cable news networks, on Fox News Channel throughout the
state of Illinois and on major network affiliates throughout the state of
Illinois.

"Senator Durbin seems intent on undermining public support for our troops and
their missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. He should not only be censured by his
Senate colleagues, but he should resign from the U.S. Senate altogether," said
Melanie Morgan, Co-Chair of Move America Forward.

The anti-Durbin TV ads have been paid for exclusively from thousands of
contributions to the Move America Forward website in the last week by Americans
throughout the nation who are disgusted by Durbin's anti-troop conduct.

"We continue to add more Illinois stations airing these ads as more people
contribute to to make sure these ads air. Americans are furious with Senator
Durbin and they want to see him do the decent thing and end his term in the
Senate," Morgan said.

Move America Forward board members are leading a delegation of talk radio hosts
to Iraq beginning later next week to allow U.S. troops to broadcast directly to
the American people about the accomplishments they have been making in Iraq
they do not feel are being adequately reported on.

The "Voices of Soldiers" Truth Tour arranged by Move America Forward in
conjunction with the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) takes place from
July 7th - 17th.

"We've heard from the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they feel
betrayed by Senator Durbin. The men and women of the Armed Forces are some of
the most generous contributors to this ad campaign," said Howard Kaloogian,
Move America Forward's founder and other Co-Chair. "Dick Durbin has provided
aid and comfort to the enemy by making false accusations against the heroic men
and women of our military."

"Senator Durbin is this generation's Jane Fonda. At least you could understand
Ms. Fonda's misguided conduct, as she was merely an actress," Kaloogian
continued. "Senator Durbin has failed to honor his congressional oath, for he
has become himself a domestic enemy who seeks to lower American support for our
troops, and provide verbal fodder for America's enemies abroad. He should be
censured by his Senate colleagues - and held accountable by the people of
Illinois."
