Good luck, Bob.  I think you'll need it.  I think the fascists may be 
heavily and covertly entrenched.  How will you dig them out?

John Hull recently posted a message from a woman claiming Christian
and anti-Kerry e-mail was being censored.  If you could demonstrate 
that to yourself, how would you prove that it was the result of 
something other than a technical glitch?  To whom would you turn for
help?  Who has the power to investigate if such things are happening?
Who has the ability to prove that some one or a group is responsible 
for intentionally disrupting the distribution of such e-mail?

If people are being arrested for simply wearing t-shirts that say things, 
who will you ask for help in rooting out fascists who are censoring 
e-mail or netmail?  And if it's possible for others to covertly disrupt the 
distribution of netmail or e-mail flowing over the Internet, what isn't?  
Someone may be reading posts written by others but with your name 
as author.  Someone might be reading messages you wrote, but which 
have been edited to include things you didn't say.  Others may be 
forming opinions about you, based - not on something *you* wrote - 
but on something which was made to appear as though you wrote it!  
If you were fortunate enough to put together some evidence of this kind 
of manipulation, to whom would you turn for help?  In whom would you 
place your trust to "root out the fascists?"  The more you complain about 
these kind of vulnerabilities, the more people cry out for greater controls.  
Doesn't that lead to the very thing you find so oppressive?  

First the question is: Who's watching the store?  Then the question is: 
Who's watching the watchers?  The U.S. has become a police state 
and the present administration has set out to make the U.S., the police 
of the world.  The words "freedom" and "liberty" don't mean very much 
if you can get arrested for simply wearing a t-shirt.  The phrase "freedom 
of speech" doesn't mean very much, if, when you post your thoughts to 
others, they're routinely censored by someone with their own agenda.  
And should you attempt to seek help in putting an end to such activity, 
you can count on being labeled "paranoid."  You can bet on it.  It's a
tactic that works.  Your stealthy enemy will be smearing your name, 
engaging in character assassination, discrediting you by inuendo, false
allegations, trumped up charges.  If none of that works to silence you 
and keep you in line, you can count on other forms of intimidation and 
physical threats.  You'll inevitably be called a coward by someone who
claims the title "SUPER-PATRIOT."  He might even spout a few lines that
sound vaguely like he's imitating Jack Nicholson in a movie.

"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"


Good luck finding out what THE TRUTH is.
