A sampling of Lettters to the Editor at The Columbus Dispatch. 
Evidentially your position regarding Taft is not supported by the majority
of citizens reading that newspaper Jeff.  Of course it just could be that
they have a modicum of ethics and morality.

Governor Taft is no better than any other state employee, who would be
fired in a heartbeat for less than this. How is he to have any credibility
now?

Taft's arrogant abuse of power (remember him playing the "executive
priviledge" card?) and ethical decay is only a tip of the iceberg. It is
said that power corrupts. This may be a trite cliche to some but, if
State/Fed lawmakers and the media would aquire the guts to investigate and
report on this phenomena, the Republicans would be caught red-handed.
Whatever happened to Tom Delay? It's sad that America's memory is so short.

we are senior citizens on a fixed income as others. We have a limited
amount to live on. And him being Governor of our State He Has discraced us
in the State of ohio. I thank the honorable thing to do would be to resign.

Hey, at least someone other than the tax payers were paying for the golf
outings. Smile :) We as citizens probably wouldn't care so much about the
Governor's outings or his spheres of influence if the state were not in a
financial crisis. Make a few good decisions and redeem yourself, would you
Bob? And, for goodness sake, pay attention to what those around you are
doing. You are ultimately fiscally responsible.

A fine of $4,000 is nothing to him, in my possition as a substance abuse
counselor, I can be fined $25,000 for an ethics violation. Also, if I took
enough time off to play that much golf, I'd get fired. IMPEACH HIM!!!

This is a loaded question - typical of The Dispatch. What continues to
bother me, and it goes beyond this story, is that The Dispatch editors and
reporters don't reveal the movers, shakers, organizations, and other
individuals with whom THEY are cozy. Such associations bias how the news is
covered, and even what news is reported, but the readers don't have that
information to use in judging the fairness of articles. When is The
Dispatch going to open up?

I myself think that Gov. Taft should look long and hard at resignation,
only because of people on his staff he fired for basicly the same offense.
However, Mayor Coleman and the likes need to back off. Mayor Coleman isn't
the stand up for your convictions guy to have a say in anything that has to
do with ethics. He couldn't even make a stand when a girl got raped in the
city schools. All he could do was give a PC answer. Not acceptable Mr.
Coleman. Back to Taft, he should step down. Ron Teeters Pickerington

This is a perfect example of the double standards that exist. The
executives keep their positions and the lower level employees are fired. If
Governor Taft had any ethics he would resign like the individuals beneath
him. Then again, if he did have ethics he would not be in this mess.

Simply, Gov. Taft violated the law and has been convicted. He swore to
uphold the laws of this land and chose to ignore them to his own personal
gain. He should be impeached.
