So what if he did?  If he actually did, that is.  He wasn't qualified anyway as
a pilot because he didn't have enough hours on that airframe, and they were
already transitioning to the F4 Phantoms by the time he wouldn've had the
hours, so he would've had to start all over anyway, even if he'd been on
regular active duty.

But all that is beside the point.  A hell of a lot of Democrats didn't go to
Nam either who probably should have, in similar circumstances.

Regardless of what you think of him, he served his country in a dangerous job,
flying an aircraft that was notorious for killing inexperienced pilots, and not
a few veteran pilots as well.  He didn't run away to Canada, he didn't falsify
his records to get medals he wasn't entitled to, and he never once tried to
trade on his military time to get ahead politically or any other way.

Nor did he sit in front of Congress and lie through his teeth and accuse his
fellow servicemen of the most unspeakable and heinous deeds, knowing full well
it was all bullshit.

Whatever George Bush's faults might be, at the end of the day, he is a far
better man than John Kerry can ever hope to be, and he doesn't have to keep
track of 36 years of lies and deception like Kerry does.
