I understand completely what you're saying, but I can't get past certain things
to be that generous to Clinton.  For me, there is a deep reverence for the
office of the presidency and the Constitution that created it.  We've had
plenty of presidents who were less than competent in our history.  But Clinton
was the first one to dishonor that office in the way he did.  Even the most
incompetent presidents still held the office in a sense of reverence, and acted
accordingly, but not Clinton.  He wasn't there for anything but
self-agrrandizement and the accumulation of personal power.

He did things that put the security of this country at severe risk, not once,
but many times, and I cannot forgive or forget that, nor feel sorry for him now
because he is sick.  Who knows what we lost when those 3000 people were killed
because he failed to follow up and do the right thing in taking out bin Laden
when he had the chance?

And, on top of everything else, he laid the groundwork for the bitterness and
hatred that has overtaken the political system, resulting in the fiasco in
2000.

My grandmother hated FDR in spite of the fact that she was a life-long
Democrat.  She could talk for hours on the things he did that she thought had
damaged America.  My dislike of Clinton is mild by comparison.
