The levees were upgraded after 1965, to CAT3 status.  In fact,
LBJ visited New Orleans THE DAY AFTER Hurricane Betsy hit.
Quite unlike your lazy-ass president, who took a full week
to figure out that folks in New Orleans were DYING and needed
help.

The 17th Street Industrial Canal was not built until Reagan
and Bush41 were in office.  It was the 17th Street Industrial
Canal that caused the majority of flooding in New Orleans,
excepting the 9th Ward, the cause of flooding coming from
the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, known as MRGO, which had
been expanded from a canal of 200 feet wide to that of 2000
feet wide during Republican administrations.  BTW, the MRGO
outlet had traffic of only about 200 ships (at most) per year.

Bush43 did NOTHING to solve the problem those two canals
created.  Even though he had been in office for almost five
years, with experts having told the Bush administration in
no uncertain terms what would happen if a major hurricane
were to hit New Orleans.  IOW, the Bush administration KNEW
what needed to be done, but deliberately chose to do NOTHING.
Just as the Bush administration KNEW what needed to be done
to make our airports safer BEFORE the terrorist attacks of
9/11, and deliberately chose to do NOTHING.

How long did it take Bush43 to visit New Orleans after Hurricane
Katrina hit?  A lot longer than a day.  How long did it take for
Bush43 to get help to the city of New Orleans after Hurricane
Katrina hit?  A lot longer than a day.  In fact, people in New
Orleans had to wait AN ENTIRE WEEK before help was on the way.

Hurricane Katrina caused at least 1080 confirmed deaths in New
Orleans, and another 2000+ missing and presumed dead.  Hundreds in
Mississippi also died, along with more missing and presumed dead.

But then, Bush says he sleeps good at night.  Even as our
soldiers continue to die in Iraq.  In a stupid, needless, and
senseless war.

Meanwhile, Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar remain free and
at-large.  All thanks to your incompetent klutz of a president.
