Repubs regained control of both houses of the GA legislature for the
first time since Reconstruction a mere 15 months ago.  Do you assert
that the underage sex probs in Atlanta just began after Jan, 2005?

And what is the role of local law enforcement?  Lets look at Atlanta-
Fulton County. Fulton voted 59% for Kerry, vs. 41% for Kerry statewide.
Please tell us about what party has the elected officials who control
local law enforcement there in the Atlanta area.

And you left out the part of the article which said - -

"The FBI has identified 14 US cities as centers for the sexual
exploitation of children.  In addition to Atlanta, they are Chicago,
Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York,
San Diego, San Francisco, St. Louis, Tampa, and Washington D.C."

Well, what do you know?  Only six of those cities are in 2004 'Red
States,' vs. 8 cities true blue.  In addition, a full Seven of the 14
cities - - Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco,
St.Louis and Washington D.C. are associated with the "100 most
Democratic counties in the 2000 presidential election,"  as published at
www.statesman.com. All of the above voted at least 66% for Gore in 2000.
Washington DC led the way, voting over 90% for Gore.

FWIW, _zero_ of the 14 cities are associated with the 100 most
Republican counties (which are mostly small, rural counties).

As to the 'bible belt' - we can count at most three of the 14 cities -
Dallas, Atlanta, and Tampa as being in the 'bible belt.'

So I'd have to say that the attempt by you and your author to paint this
as a Republican state and/or bible-belt problem is without much basis.
