Long before the time I was around.
And long before the time you were around.
And long before anybody else was around.

The killing of innocent civilians.

Those who want peace have been complaining about the lack of peace
ever since man has walked this earth.

There is no peace at all.

I have always called for Lebanon's sovereignty to be honored and
respected.  Even when Lebanon was occupied by Israel and Syria.

That is a lie.

JB>This is all about hating Bush and whatever he stands for.

I hate Bush's lack of concern for American citizens who were stranded
for a week in Beirut before being evacuated to safety.  I hate Bush's
abysmal record of incompetence, including his failure to evacuate in
a timely manner folks stranded in New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina.

JB>You know it.  I know it and so does the rest of the country.

Incompentence is one of the main reasons why Bush's job approval
ratings have remained poor among the American people.

Doing nothing encourages that war to continue.

Time to kill more innocent civilians?  That is not a solution to
end any war.

Getting both sides to agree to an immediate cease fire would
be a better solution.

JB>No, explain it to me.

You ever watch a boxing match?  One boxer hits another boxer.
That boxer hits the boxer back.  And so on.  Back and forth.
Until the end of the bout.  But boxing matches generally have
an end, being limited to a number of rounds.  In war, there
is no such limitation.  Two or more sides fight, either until
a side(s) no longer exists, or is forced to stop fighting.

JB>You'd have me believe that no war has ever ended.

I never said that.  Only that some wars last forever.

JB>Somehow I find that hard to believe.

The two Koreas are still in a state of war.
Russia and Japan remain in a state of war.
India and Pakistan are still at odds over Kashmir.
Israel and Palestine remain in a state of war.
Ireland and England are not on the best of terms.
Other conflicts continue.
And new wars will develop over time.

The point is, there have always been wars throughout the history of
mankind.  And there will always be wars for as long as man remains.
Some wars will end.  Others will not.  And more will be started.

However, it is best to end wars sooner rather than later, thus saving
the lives of thousands if not millions of innocent civilians.
