Ärende: Election

on the subject: Election

RH>> A terrorist's objective is to undermine the confidence the people
RH>> have in the governmant. In the U.S. one well documented effect of
RH>> underminded confidence is when that "the base" doesn't vote. *IF*
RH>> the Democrats can affect the voting of the Republican "base" they do
 RH>> so using TERROTIST tactics.

GB> I think from this we are talking about two different things.

I'm talking about terrorists and the tactics that terrorists use to acheive
their objective, defeat of the existing government. What are you talking
about?

 GB>>> I don't think that will happen.

RH>> That *IS* the stated goal of the Democratic Party leadership.

GB> I guess then all parties out of office are terrorists by that
 GB> yardstick.

Not necessarly. I've seen far more material aimed at getting voters to
either *vote* against a canadidate or to *vote* for a candidate in most
elections. What is being done today by the Democratic Party is designed
to discourage any *voting* by the opposition base. A very significant
difference.

GB>>> Discontent and uneasiness does not have to be defined in people for
GB>>> them to vote a different way.

GB>>> Cynically we all know that what a politician says is not always what
GB>>> he does and just because you have a plan, it may not be the right
GB>>> one or even one the people want more of at the moment.

GB>>> I think the Dems can win if lots of people come out and vote.

RH>> You thing wrong. "Lots of people" includes Republicans and its base.

RH>> The Democrats simply can NOT win if there is a high turn out.

 GB> Why not?

Several reasons but the biggest is that the Republican "base" will ALWAYS
vote Republican. The Democratic base is less stable annd tends to contain
more one issue groups that often conflict at the bottom line.

GB>>> I know a lot of Dems who are all fired up now. I know a lot of
GB>>> Republicans who are not happy with the way things are going.

RH>> It all comes down to the vote.

 GB> True.

Which is where the Republican Party has a stronger working plan.

GB>>> I also know its all anecdotal.

GB>>> But I do know one thing. Whenever we do engage in the democratic
GB>>> process, unfettered by terrorist propaganda that one party or
another
GB>>> gives them victory, we win. If we left them divide us, we have lost.

RH>> The Democrats ARE using terrorists propaganda. They must to supress
 RH>> that
 RH>> Republican base.

GB> I see what you are saying now. I am sure they are going to try.

GB> But the Republican party itself seems determined to turn its own base
 GB> away.

You are only seeing the surface and what is being played by a biased media.

GB> I saw on Hannity & Colmes tonight a poll that Dick Morris quoted that
GB> Republicans who normally voted Republican are going down to I think
 GB> he said 68% from 77%.

He leaves out one significant point. What the Republican voter says before
the vote is cast is to communicate to his canadidates. What a Republican
voter does in the booth is another story. I trust the voter in the booth.

GB> I know many fiscal Republicans disgusted with the spend mentality of
GB> their party, they are voting Democrat. Others will not vote at all.

You know what they are saying, fiscal Republicans will pull the lever
"Republican" in the final count.

RH>> Go do your homework. See what a terrorist is and what a terrorist's
RH>> objectives are. So far all that I've seen from you on this topic
 GB> indicates
RH>> that you have no idea of what a terrorist is.

RH>> Hint: It's not the guy that blows himself up.

GB> Since that is what I was talking about and what the others in this
GB> thread were talking about, I assumed you were too.

The others, from what I've been reading, are saying that the Democratic
Party is using the guy that blows himself up as the tool to send their
message of discontent of the government to voters. Specifically Republican
voters.

GB> It would seem terrorism is a long held tradition here in the US in
 GB> politics by your point.

Well it has if you know any history. Just what would you call the tactics
used in the 50's and 60's to keep blacks from the polls? THAT was open
terrorism, pure and simple.
