You called them "Europeans" rather than "wetbacks."  Interesting.

That's about the time the US government DID start restricting immigration.
 In other words, old immigrants and their descendants deprived potential
new immigrants of the opportunities they themselves enjoyed.  And every
time we restricted immigration it hurt OUR economy.

If you are concerned about people who don't support themselves, why
distinguish between citizens and non-citizens?

There have been many studies done over the years by reputable economists
that show they add more to the economy than they take away, including
bringing in more governmental revenue than they cost government.

"Slave wages" hardly applies when someone voluntarily comes into the
country and voluntarily takes a job.  That is the nature of a free market.
 For my own part I don't like the idea of government stepping in and
artificially raising wages whether it is done by minimum wage laws or by
locking out willing workers.  And I'd definitely prefer the workers coming
in than the company going OUT of the country.

That was a discussion from about five years back.  There are very few
constitutional rights or privileges or benefits that are exclusively for
native citizens.

How many of your complaints would go away if all those here illegally were
made legal?  If there are any remaining, they are complaints about
immigrants, not exclusively ILLEGAL immigrants.
