Ethanol can help but too much production will have major negative 
results for us and the planet.  Long term hydrogen can be a good 
solution but only once we have a cheap supply of electricity to create 
it.  The most likely long term source of this will be fusion reactors, 
where vast amounts of cheap electricity can be generated, especially at 
night, when normal demand is lower.  

As for OPEC, if we believe the other scare tactics of the greenies, all 
we have to do is wait.  They keep telling us we will run out of oil in 
30 years.  Once this blessed event occurs for them, OPEC will be 
powerless, because they will have little to offer the planet.  

The better answer is for us to produce more.  There are plenty of 
sources of oil available in the US and offshore.
