Ärende: Support
===============
SH>I can no longer be counted among the ranks of Bush supporters. I no
SH>longer support President Bush for a number of reasons, primary among
SH>them:

SH>1. Bush and Co. simply cannot figure out how to get themselves 12
SH>hours ahead of the news cycle. This dreadful failure can be laid
SH>directly at the feet of Tony Snow. I understand that his cancer is
SH>back and that may be effecting his performance, but reacting to news
SH>instead of shaping it is Snow's responsibility. Walter Reed and the
SH>firing of US Attorneys are non stories that Snow is not handling
SH>well.

SH>2. Bush refuses to play hard ball with the democrats. When he was
SH>elected, Bush promised a new tone in Washington in which he would
SH>work with Congressional democrats, and he has been true to his word.
SH>In fact, Bush let the insufferable drunk Ted Kennedy shape the No
SH>Child Left Behind Bill. He invites these scummy people to the White
SH>House to watch sports events and fellowship with him when he should
SH>be fighting them in the trenches, new tone be damned. At every turn,
SH>W praises Bill Clinton, the sleaziest man ever elected to high office
SH>in this country (impeached, disbarred, disgraced). The Bushes
SH>rightly hold the Clintons in complete and utter contempt, and the
SH>president should allow that contempt to be manifest by calculated
SH>indifference to both of the scumbags.

SH>3. We are doing good things in both Iraq and Afghanistan, yet the
SH>president cannot seem to find the voice necessary to articulate our
SH>successes there, ceding the issue to the scumbags in the democrat
SH>party and the mainstream press. I have vested interest in success
SH>in Iraq, and it infuriates me that W can't find his voice in this
SH>matter. My 21-year-old son is better at talking up our successes in
SH>the Middle East than his commander in chief is.

SH>4. Bush allows himself - and by extension this country - to be
SH>lectured to by foreign leaders - particularly those in Latin America
SH>who criticize our immigration policies. He ought to look these
SH>tin-horn leaders in the eye and tell them that their people are tying
SH>to get here because of 1) reproductive irresponsibility and 2)
SH>because most of Latin America has yet to figure out how to create and
SH>nurture a middle class that would employ the products of such
SH>irresponsibility.

SH>5. The 2006 elections were disastrous for this country, and I lay
SH>responsiblity for that fiasco directly at the feet of George Bush,
SH>whose RNC failed to craft a coherent message for the campaign. Two
SH>years ago, Bush had the brass ring, notching an impressive victory
SH>over Sad Sack and his girly veep. He squandered all that capital in
SH>about 18 months and handed Congress to the wack fringe of American
SH>politics. Speaker Nancy Pelosi???? John Conyers as a committee
SH>chairman?? Give me a fucking break.

SH>I remain a loyal Republican, but I no longer support the president.

Well he certainly hasn't turned out to be Ronald Reagan but he is
probably the only person in Washington still taking the long view of
things and not watching polls. It will be interesting to see where this
Britain and Iran issue ends up. It could well be the spark needed to
topple Iran.
