Alan, you are simply dead wrong.  I used to favor legalizing drugs - taking
control of it away from the mob and the drug lords in reality - but not
anymore.  The Dutch tried that route, and it was a miserable failure.  They
ended up with a massive increase in the use of hard drugs like heroin, dead
bodies in the center of downtown Amersterdam in the free zone, and a big lose
of tourist trade.  And they never had the level of problems we have here to
start with.  The very nature of those drugs makes people violent, and that is
what feeds the crime that swirls around the drug trade.

As for gun laws, the use of illicit guns by druggies is just an excuse.  The
antigun types will ALWAYS find some reason to try to take guns away, and will
never deal with the known facts that show crime goes down when citizens are
allowed to carry concealed weapons.  That has been proven beyond a shadow of a
doubt.
