-=> Quoting Lee Lofaso to John Hull <=-

 >LL>Kerry's remark during the presidential debate about Cheney's
 >LL>daughter

 >SD>As an aside, is it me or has this election been the nastiest
 >SD>(concerning mudslinging, finger-pointing accusations) in recent
 >SD>memory?

 >LL>You'd have to go back to the presidential election between Thomas
 >LL>Jefferson and John Adams to find one as mean and nasty as this
 >LL>one. :)

 >FS>No need to go back that far, Lee. Any election involving a
 >FS>Democrat candidate has included mud-throwing by the Democrats.

 >LL>Neither Adams nor Jefferson were Democrats.

 JH>Jefferson was not a Democrat?

 LL> Little "d". Not big "D".

JH>I'm sure that would be news to Mr. Jefferson were he alive today. He
JH>sure as hell wasn't a Whig, the only other major pa in existence at
 JH>the time.

LL> George Washington was no party.
LL> Thomas Jefferson was Democrat Republican.
 LL> John Adams was Whig.

George Washington *also* wore a wig.

 >LL>Andrew Jackson is regarded as being the first Democrat president.

JH>Not in any history of the presidency I've ever seen.

LL> The Democratic Party was not in existence when Thomas Jefferson was
 LL> president.

 >LL>Abraham Lincoln is regarded as being the first Republican
 >LL>president.

 JH>Now that statement is correct.

 LL> Of course it is.

"Of course"??? Lee, maybe 1% of your statements are factual
hence saying "of course it is" is a gross exaggeration ...
[sigh] ... and I'm merely assuming it is as *high* as 1% ...

JH>Lincoln was the first candidate to run under the new party, which
JH>replaced the Whig Party in the 1850's.

LL> Lincoln was the first *presidential* candidate who won as a
LL> Republican. The Republican Party had been formed a few years prior to
LL> Lincoln's election. In the 1856 presidential election, the Republican
LL> candidate did not fare well. But in the 1860 presidential election,
LL> the Democrats split their vote thus enabling Lincoln to win as the
 LL> Republican.

Lincoln won because the voters anticipated the likely
top-quality Republican presidents such as Ronald Wilson Reagan
and George W. Bush ...

 >LL>George W. Bush is regarded as being the last Republican

 JH>Only by idiot liberals.

LL> The worst thing that can happen for the Republican Party
LL> is if George W. Bush wins a second term in office.

Of course Bush is setting such high standards that future
Republican presidents will have to work hard to reach them but
some of them will succeed.

 >LL>president. John Kerry will soon be regarded as being the greatest
 >LL>Democrat president.

JH>Even Clinton is better than Kerry, and you know what I think of Clinton.

LL> Well, Clinton was the greatest president in American history. But
LL> Kerry will top Clinton, even though right now Clinton is more popular
LL> than both Kerry and Bush. Yesterday, Clinton spoke in front of crowds
LL> in excess of 100,000. Not bad for a politician who has been out of
 LL> office for four years.

Actually, Lee, (and note that "1%" above) aside from Lyndon
Johnson, Bill Clinton was the worst president in the last half of
the Twentieth Century! As for that crowd look up "freak show" on
the Internet, especially what attracts *crowds* to look at
freaks.

 >FS>After you awakened from that nightmare, Lee, what were your first
 >FS>thoughts??

 >SD>I mean, you know, if one's daughter is a lesbian, so be it. It's
 >SD>not th parents' choice about what their daughter does and they
 >SD>shouldn't be cal the carpet for it. Just my two cents' on that.

 >LL>Most Americans, except seniors, accept homosexuality for what it
 >LL>is, the result being that most Americans do not care one way or the
 >LL> other if an individual is gay or not.

 >FS>So you *accept* that aberration?

 >LL>I accept the fact that homosexuals are homosexuals. I accept the
 >LL>fact that homosexuals choose to be with other homosexuals. I also
 >LL>accept the fact that heterosexuals are heterosexuals. I also accept
 >LL>the fact that heterosexuals choose to be with other heterosexuals.

 >FS>Do you also accept the belief that the earth is round --
 >FS>approximately??

 >LL>Especially young people, who could care less.

 >FS>Oh? Exactly *how* much less could they care??

 >LL>One pale shade of green less than the other pale shade of green.

 >FS>How pale? Of course that reminds one of the tagline, "How big
 >FS>is an elephant?" ... "What kind of elephant?" ... "A big
 >FS>elephant." ... "How big?" ... heh heh heh ...

JH>What's the matter, Lee? No answer?

For *once* Lee is showing enough sense to keep his mouth shut ...
heh heh heh ...

LL> Personally, I believe that George W. Bush is gay.

In the sense of "happy", not in the perverse homosexual usage ...

LL> After all, most queers are bisexual, married with kids.
LL> But don't tell Laura. She probably doesn't know.

She knows George is happy ... but, then, what extremely
successful president *wouldn't* be happy?

... "*Drink* a toast?" No. One *eats* toast ...
