The economy was barely on its feet, and only because of increased government
spending on war materiel.

He won because he knew how to unify the people in the war effort, and because
you don't change horses in the middle of a battle.

The economy wasn't recovering, it was changing back to a peace time economy,
and you couldn't have stopped it with an atom bomb.

An economy that was built by Eisenhower.

Johnson presided over the largest increase in welfare and entitlements in
modern history by trying to fight a war and increase all the social programs at
the same time.  He ruined the economy, and lost the war.

Carter pushed things back off the cliff and ended up with the worst recession
in US history other than the Depression.  Remember his "malaise" speech?

You conveniently left out Ronald Reagan.  His economic policies laid the
foundations for the greatest peacetime economic boom in US history - one that
lasted more than 12 years.

Clinton killed the Reagan growth spurt by passing a huge tax hike, which he
later admitted was too high.

Due to the GOP gaining control of the Congress, and preventing Clinton from
doing any serious harm.

On the contrary, people repudiated Kerry and his BS about how bad the economy
is.  Despite the high gas prices, we're still growing economically.  NO
country, including this one, has ever taxed its way out of a recession.  You
get out by LOWERING tax rates to spur incentive to spend by business.  That's
what Reagan did, and that's what Bush did.

Not only will the economy be in good shape in 2006, but we will increase the
number of seats we hold in the Senate and the House as a result.  And what's
wrong with one party in control?  We might actually get something done for a
change, instead of just standing around pissing on each other's shoes.  After
all, the Democrats had their turn for nearly 50 years, and didn't do much
except increase dependency on government and increase the welfare rolls and
taxes.  That isn't what this country is all about.
