Ärende: Tsunami Disaster Relief
===============================

GB>Why is it embarrassing to Americans?

GB>Because another country did more as a percentage of their GNP than
GB>we?

GB>Who is getting the food there now?

GB>Is the Japanese Navy there in force and the JDF handing out the
GB>supplies? Is the Japanese Air Force dropping food and medical
GB>supplies to remote areas? The Indonesian military is not known for
GB>its humanitarian practices. I can see them risking their lives to
GB>save the same people they kill, can't you?

GB>How about the rest of the list?

GB>Why don't you put the effort forward to include the cost of a battle
GB>group being there and operating on a large scale and growing? You
GB>seem to have gone to great pains to work out the math if it looks bad
GB>for the US, be fair, figure in those costs as well.

GB>How do we know if the Japanese will even pony it all up? Even the UN
GB>stated don't get too exited, often nations go back on their pledges.
GB>We have the example of the 1st Gulf War for that.

GB>Heck, some of these countries hit ran out into the streets en masse
GB>to celebrate us getting hit in 9/11.

GB>I wonder how they would have felt if we emptied our homes celebrating
GB>their people getting annihilated by an act of God. There are concerns
GB>that some of these radical groups may decide to take advantage of US
GB>forces being there to shoot them.

GB>I'd say we are doing pretty good.

If a democrat were president, this wouldn't be an issue. Folks like Lee
are only out to make the president and the US look bad. They forget
(except when convenient) that we spend close to $500B a year on the
military to keep the world safe. As for being embarrassed or ashamed,
liberals live in that state. They are ashamed to be US citizens.
