 EC>>> SK> I know that!

EC>>> What do you do that shows that you care for the poor? Anything

SK>> Both of those question are nothing but taunts. Figures.

EC> What makes you say that? You claim to stand for something, and I
 EC> just am
EC> asking if you walk the walk.

SK>> To the first question...I build low cost housing for poor

EC> Okay, that isn't so bad is it? You do something. Do you work

SK>> To the second question...huh? The only person that lives with me

EC> That's fine. I'm not saying that having someone move in with you

SK>> And, no, I don't think that I must move homeless people into my
SK>> modest home. For that wouldn't help them in reality.

EC> No one is saying that you must.

SK>> Now...what have YOU done for rich people? You voted for Bush!
 SK>> BWAHHHH!!!

EC> I don't know that many rich people. Well, some are rich by some

EC> I guess being a friend is what I do.

EC>>> Womens' rights? Hmmm. Do you think women have more rights than

SK>> That's a stupid question. But then...look who asked it.

EC> Why is asking what you think stupid? I don't know you that well,
 EC> but you

EC>>> Different rights? Hmmm. I don't think the constitution

SK>> It didn't when women and black didn't have voting right either,
 SK>> now did it!

EC> The question is does it now? If not, as I think, should it? I
 EC> say no, but
EC> maybe you have a good answer. Haven't seen one yet - at least not
 EC> a really

EC>>> Anti-racism. Does this mean that you do something to reduce the
EC>>> amount of racism? What do you do about racism anyway?

 SK>> I'm anti-racist, foo!

EC> My, you seem to get excited at the least little thing. Are you

 EC> politics is for you?

SK>> I protest at Klan gathering,

EC> I can't remember the last time I saw a Klan gathering. Where do
 EC> you find
 EC> these gatherings?

SK>> I hand out literature, I believe in and advocate anti-racist

EC> This literature promotes a person's not being racist? I assume
 EC> that by
EC> anti-racist education, you mean some kind of classwork in schools.
 EC> What
EC> sort of thing do you promote?

EC> If someone were to ask you why racism is bad, what would you tell
 EC> them?

SK>> and I try to talk people like you into another mind set.

EC> People like me? Why should I have a different mind set?

EC>>> I guess the question is, do you just stand for these principles
EC>>> or do you do something?

SK>> I do as much as I can within my day while still having a life.

SK>> My nights are devoted to doing the same. Arguing with
 SK>> racist/fascist/misogynists like you! ;)

EC> Careful now or you will talk me into a different mindset. <g>

 SK>> Any MORE questions?

 EC> I guess not.

SK>> Oh, and tell me what rank you are in the KKK, dude.

 EC> Right.

SK>> Seriously though...what do YOU do for the U.S. and the world?
 SK>> Anything?

EC> Well, we serve dinner here at our house once a week. One typical
EC> week, I took a picture of everyone. The birthplaces represented were
EC> Japan, South Texas, Georgia, New Hampshire, Canada, South Florida,
EC> Alaska, North Dakota, Bulgaria, Hawaii, Mozamique, Trinidad, and New York
 EC> City.

EC> Last summer there were some nursing students living here from the
EC> Marshall Islands, Mexico, and Indonesia and a girl who visited most days
EC> and who I regularly take to the airport and pick her up is from Belize.

EC> There were several different races in those groups.

EC> I set up a fellow from Nigeria with two accounts on one of my
EC> Linux servers so that he and his students could learn how to create web
 EC> pages.

EC> I teach students from Angola, Indonesia, Camaroon, Mexico,
EC> Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Kenya, South Africa, Bulgaria, Barbados,
EC> Dominican Republic, Korea, Canada, China, Panama, Nigeria, India, and Hati

EC> as well as those from all over the United States.

EC> Right now one of the guys living here is half Iraqi.

EC> I played Santa for a group of motorcyle clubs who sponsored a toy
EC> run and gave toys (three trips though line each) to more than one hundred
 EC> poor kids. I didn't need a fake beard nor a pillow. <G>

EC> I gave several hundred dollars to a girl whose parents had split
EC> and neither was helping her with her education. She needed to pay her
EC> school bill. And I gave almost two hundred to a girl from Madagascar who
EC> said that her parents were sick and she needed some money that they
EC> couldn't provide. Also, I gave almost four hundred dollars to an
EC> Indonesian girl who needed some remedial work in preparation for a
EC> nursing test. Also I let her drive my car up to Dallas every day.

EC> My older son spent seven years in Japan teaching people to speak
EC> English. He married a Portuguese girl from South Africa. He just
EC> completed a masters in linguistics at the University of North Texas, and
EC> wants to spend his life teaching English as a second language.

EC> My younger son implements and maintains the web site for a
EC> international group of professional women.

EC> But I'm a right-wing, extremist; conservative through and through.
EC> Just think what I could do if I were a liberal Democrat like you. <g>
EC> It bugs me that conservatives are stereotyped as heartless misers who
EC> would run down their mothers for a financial advantage, but we have to put

EC> up with such from people like you.

Ed, your generosity puts most everybody here to shame. I know, too, that you
aren't bragging just to impress Mr. Kemp. The bottom line though, is that
unlike most liberals who make a great show of being generous and compassionate,
you really are. We, and your students, are lucky to have you. I'm proud to
call you a friend.
