I really feel sorry for the Minnesotans in Michelle Bachmann's district.



I understand that Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is one of the biggest
lunatics ever to serve in the United States Congress in this generation
and it is very hard to take anything she says with any degree of
seriousness.

But given the number of lunatics in our society that easily get fired-up
to dangerous levels (remember the crazy shouts at McCain and Palin
rallies after they began their ridiculous "terrorist" meme about
Obama?), I think Bachmann's frightening rants about it being time for
"revolution" is getting uncomfortably close to the "T" word: treason.

Recall her rant last week:

"I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the
energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us,
having a revolution every now and then is a good thing, and the people --
we the people -- are going to have to fight back hard if we're not going
to lose our country. And I think this has the potential of changing the
dynamic of freedom forever in the United States."

Now, here's her latest insanity:

"At this point the American people - it's like Thomas Jefferson said, a
revolution every now and then is a good thing. We are at the point,
Sean, of revolution. And by that, what I mean, an orderly revolution --
where the people of this country wake up get up and make a decision that
this is not going to happen on their watch. It won't be our children and
grandchildren that are in debt. It is we who are in debt, we who will be
bankrupting this country, inside of ten years, if we don't get a grip.
And we can't let the Democrats achieve their ends any longer."

"Armed and dangerous?" "Revolution?" I'd be inclined to ignore lunatics
like Bachmann, but given what we saw during the presidential campaign
and the fact that American taxpayers are paying this nut an annual
salary of $174,000, I'm beginning to think that some formal intervention
might be necessary if her party can't get her under control. This is
beyond a rant of an ordinary crazy person.

She is, after all, a member of the United States Congress.
