Army and Navy and Air Force and Marine Corps lawyers.  People
who have the training and experience to *know* what's legal and/or
Constitutional and what isn't.

In point of fact the JAGs were purposely kept 'out of the loop' on
'enhanced interrogations' because they 'weren't trustworthy' according
to either Addington or Haynes (two of the main drivers behind the
'enhanced interrogation' policy; Yoo, Bybee, Feith and Wolfowitz were
the others).  If the JAGs didn't know about it they couldn't make their
opinions known, could they?

When the JAGs *did* find out about it and finally did manage to get
Rumsfeld to pay attention to them he did order that those 'enhanced
interrogations' stop, at least temporarily.
