Not really, that would require intelligence on the part of the perpetrator far
in excess of anything that George III ever demonstrated.

Nothing. They do so in my state. When I go to the polls to vote, as I do every
election, I am required to identify myself. The first few times I had to show
my voter's registration card. Now I am identified by Mark I Eyeball on the part
of the election judges since I vote in every election and the poll watchers and
election judges tend to be the same folks each time. But, I am identified. If I
move to a different precinct I expect to be asked for my Voter's ID card, etc.

Huh? Since when? You may be detained until the Keystones determine who you are.
But, you are in no way require to produce your "papers".

Not true. Purchasing an automobile requires only the requisite amount of ca$h
where I live.

Voters in my state must identify themselves to the election commission which
issues their voter's ID. So what? It only makes sense.

One has to present a Voter's ID at the polls where I live.
